It’s a workspace exchange arrangement — you’ll receive free use of a private office in return for light weekday on-site coverage at our dog daycare and grooming facility.

About the Exchange

What you get: Free use of a private 14′x9′ office (closing door), Wi-Fi, shared kitchen/lunchroom, bathroom with shower, parking, and access to a 39′x28′ multi-purpose room outside coverage hours. Approx. value of office: list yours here.

What we need: Reliable, calm presence at our dog daycare & grooming facility to greet occasional visitors, radio staff when needed, and close your door during small-dog hallway transitions (“Running of the Bulls”). You’ll have 85–90% quiet time for your own work.

Schedule: Pick 3–5 weekdays between 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (consistent week to week).

Key responsibilities

Use two-way radio (no phones in dog-care areas).
Close office door during dog transitions.
Give 1–2 short tours/week from a provided script.
No dog handling (no feeding, walking, or play).

Terms of the exchange

Barter only: Office use in exchange for on-site coverage. No wages/benefits. No employment relationship.
You are responsible for your own work/business/taxes.
30-day trial, then month-to-month; either side may end with 14 days’ notice (immediate termination for safety violations).

This workspace exchange does not include hands-on work with dogs. For safety and insurance reasons, you won’t handle, feed, or play with the dogs — your only direct interaction may be briefly escorting a grooming client and their leashed dog to the lounge. Are you comfortable with this arrangement and able to maintain those boundaries?*

This role is inside a calm dog daycare and grooming facility. A few times each day, staff move small dogs (under 30 lbs) through the hallway — lovingly known as the “Running of the Bulls.” You’ll always get a radio heads-up beforehand and will need to close your office door during that time (otherwise those cute chaos-makers will happily overrun your space!). Are you comfortable working in this type of environment?*

Part of this role includes greeting grooming clients when they arrive and escorting them and their leashed dogs to the grooming lounge. The dogs remain under their owners’ control at all times; your role is simply to guide them through the hallway and ensure the gate is latched once they enter. Are you comfortable performing this task?*

This role requires keeping a two-way radio on during your 9 AM–4 PM coverage to stay connected with the daycare and grooming teams (phones aren’t used in dog-care areas). You’ll hear short chatter — usually when staff are moving dogs — at predictable times (around 10 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM). You may occasionally be asked to confirm your area is secure or relay a quick message. Are you comfortable keeping the radio on and communicating professionally throughout the day?*

You’ll use the radio several times throughout the day (typically 4–8 times, depending on grooming volume) to reach a groomer when a client arrives or to let a wrangler know when a dog is ready for pick-up. You’ll have access to the grooming schedule, so you’ll usually know when clients are expected. These are short, polite messages such as, “Ashley, your 1:00 groom is here.” Are you comfortable communicating clearly and professionally over the radio as part of your daily routine?*

You may give occasional facility tours (typically 1–2 per week) to prospective clients. Before any tour begins, you’ll radio the team so everyone knows there’s a visitor in the building. Visitors can look through windows into playrooms but never have direct contact with dogs. You’ll have a short script about our company and services to guide you, but this is not a sales position — just a friendly, informative introduction. Are you comfortable giving brief tours while following these safety protocols?*

Most of your day (about 85–90%) will be quiet time for your own work, with short moments of interaction such as greeting visitors, giving brief tours, or radio communication. Some of these tasks are time-sensitive — for example, when dogs need to move to potty or transition between rooms, they can’t wait 15 minutes. How would you plan to manage your own workflow so you can act quickly when needed without losing focus on your work?
