Let’s address the obvious first — income.

This is a 3-day schedule, so the real question is whether the income makes sense compared to a traditional 5-day week.

We believe in being transparent, so here is exactly how the numbers are calculated based on our current pricing and total time per dog (including prep, grooming, drying, cleanup, and reset).

Time per dog varies based on coat, behavior, and condition. These ranges reflect what our current groomer consistently completes in this environment without double booking or stacking dogs.

The examples below include a 15% tip for consistency. Tips vary by client and are often higher.

Example full day (grooms only – all time included)

• 8:00–9:00 Small dog ($95): Commission: $47 + Tip: $14 = Total: ~$61
• 9:00–10:00 Medium dog ($105): Commission: $52 + Tip: $16 = Total: ~$68
• 10:00–11:15 Large dog ($120): Commission: $60 + Tip: $18 = Total: ~$78
• 11:15–12:15 Small dog ($95): Commission: $47 + Tip: $14 = Total: ~$61
• 12:15–12:45 Lunch
• 12:45–2:00 X-Large dog ($145): Commission: $72 + Tip: $22 = Total: ~$94
• 2:00–3:00 Medium dog ($105): Commission: $52 + Tip: $16 = Total: ~$68
• 3:00–4:15 Large dog ($120): Commission: $60 + Tip: $18 = Total: ~$78
• 4:15–5:30 XXL dog ($165): Commission: $82 + Tip: $25 = Total: ~$107
• 5:30–6:30 Small ($95): Commission: $47–$52 + Tip: $13 = Total: ~$60

Full day: ~$675 or 3 days (Wed–Fri): ~$2025/week
 

Pay structure

• 50% commission plus 100% tips
• Pricing ranges from $85–$180 depending on size
• Additional charges for coat condition, matting, and breed-specific work

Schedule

• Wednesday through Friday
• Current schedule: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• No weekends

 Grooming Environment

• Private grooming room (no chaotic salon floor)
• One dog at a time — no double-stacking
• Receptionist handles calls and scheduling
• Set schedule (Wed–Fri, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM)
• Professional judgment respected

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of professional grooming experience (2+ preferred)
• Able to complete full grooms independently
• Comfortable grooming large and giant dogs (60–150 lbs)
• Must be within ~30 minutes of 6628 Evergreen Way at 8:00 AM
