The companions in this role happen to be four-legged—but the responsibility, trust, and independent judgment required are very real.

You’ll stay in a client’s home from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, caring for their pets and maintaining their normal routine. Once the pets are fed, settled, and medicated if needed, most of the evening is spent relaxing or sleeping while remaining available if they need care.

Independent contractor position earning 75% of the client fee.
Typical non-holiday overnight assignment pays $120. Holiday assignments pay more.

Overnight pet sitters are independent contractors and receive 75% of the client fee for each completed overnight assignment. A typical overnight assignment (approximately 12 hours) pays approximately $120 (non-holiday rate). Most of those hours are spent sleeping while remaining available to care for the pets if needed. Are you comfortable serving as the sole overnight caregiver responsible for a client's pets, including recognizing when something is wrong, making sound decisions independently, and contacting the client or veterinarian when appropriate?*
