Dog Daycare Handler & Group Trainer
This isn't a daycare where you stand around watching dogs play.
At Four-Legged Fun Zone, you'll spend your day reading canine body language, shaping behavior, building confidence, reinforcing appropriate social skills, and preventing problems before they happen—not reacting to them after they start. If you love actively working with dogs—not simply supervising them—you'll fit right in.
Approximately 80–90% of this role involves leading structured off-leash playgroups. The remaining 10–20% includes enrichment activities and, for qualified team members, the opportunity to help develop and lead future puppy classes, group training, and enrichment programs for additional compensation.
Why You'll Love It
- Shape behavior every day—not just during a one-hour training class.
- Work with many of the same dogs week after week and actually see your training make a difference.
- No evenings. No weekends. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
- Help build our future puppy and enrichment programs.
- Steady paycheck, performance bonuses, and no unpaid marketing or client cancellations.
Compensation
Base Pay: $20/hour during onboarding and training.
Additional earning opportunities include:
- Daily playgroup performance bonuses for independently leading larger structured playgroups.
- Additional compensation for qualified team members who develop and lead puppy classes, enrichment activities, or group training programs.
Typical earnings: $23–$29/hour.
Required Experience (Must Meet ALL Requirements)
- Professionally supervised or co-supervised at least 100 structured off-leash groups of five or more unfamiliar dogs within the past two years, where each group lasted at least 60 continuous minutes and supervising the dogs was one of your primary responsibilities.
- Held at least one paid animal-care position for 12 consecutive months or longer within the past three years.
- Live within 30 minutes of our Everett facility.
- Able to stand and walk throughout the shift while confidently handling dogs weighing up to 150 pounds.
If you're passionate about canine behavior and want to help build something special, we'd love to meet you.
