What We’re Looking For

1+ Year Dog Experience: Paid or volunteer hands-on handling (shelter, rescue, daycare, vet clinic, etc. Note: Personal pet care does not apply).
Reliable & Local: Able to work Tues–Fri (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM) and live within 30 minutes of our Everett facility.
Active & Resilient: Ready for a physical, fast-paced job outdoors in all weather.
Bonus Points (Not a Dealbreaker!): Have a valid driver’s license to help with morning or afternoon pet taxi service!

This role requires standing and walking for 8–10 hours per shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, cleaning, and supervising dogs outdoors in rain, snow, or heat while staying alert to canine behavior. Are you able to complete these physical and mental tasks with or without reasonable accommodation?*

This is a developmental position beginning at the Dog Daycare Trainee level, with a starting wage of $18–$19/hour. Employees who demonstrate the required dog-handling, safety, and group-management skills may advance into our Dog Daycare Wrangler role, which carries increased responsibility and compensation. Do you have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, and would you be willing to transport dogs in a company vehicle when needed?*

Dogs bark, grunt, growl during play, shriek with excitement, wrestle, chase each other, and sometimes all start barking at once! The noise can be LOUD, and the energy can change in seconds.

It's also VERY physical! Dogs weighing 150+ lbs may lean against you for affection, accidentally step on your feet, bump into you while playing, or enthusiastically try to get your attention. You're sharing an active space with large, powerful animals who don't always realize their own size!

This is NOT a dog-sitting job where you sit back and watch dogs play.

Your most important responsibility is CONSTANTLY monitoring EVERY dog in your playgroup, recognizing changes in behavior, and intervening before excitement escalates into conflict. Even when the dogs appear calm, you must remain alert and engaged.

This requires sustained concentration, physical stamina, and the ability to remain calm and focused in a noisy, unpredictable environment throughout your shift.

We're not trying to scare you away! We just want you to understand what a real day in dog daycare looks (and sounds!) like. It's joyful, hilarious, rewarding, and sometimes downright chaotic. You get all the puppy kisses, tail wags, and unconditional love—but you have to take the noise, slobber, giant paws, and occasional stressful moments along with them! ?

Knowing all of this, are you genuinely comfortable working in this loud, physical, fast-paced environment while remaining alert and actively supervising every dog throughout your shift?*

Now that you have a picture of what a typical day in our playrooms can look like, let's put YOU in the middle of the action!

Imagine walking into a playroom with 15 off-leash dogs, including four weighing over 150 lbs. Dogs are running, wrestling, and playing all around you. Suddenly, one particularly affectionate 150-lb dog stands on his hind legs and tries to give you a hug by placing his front paws on your shoulders!

An experienced handler is working alongside you, training you step-by-step, but eventually you'll manage a group like this independently.
