Dog Groomer – Salary + Commission + Tips

Everett, WA
Part Time to Full Time
Mid Level

Thinking about changing salons, but worried what that will do to your income?

We understand!

Changing shops shouldn't feel like a high-stakes bet on your bank account. We believe talent deserves a safety net. That’s why we provide a guaranteed base salary—so you don't have to stress about rent.

In addition to your salary, you keep your commission and 100% of your tips—we just make sure your “worst-case week” still works financially.

Work Environment

Financial peace of mind is just the first step.

The second is the environment you spend hours a day in. Most “standard” shops are built for volume, not for people.

If you feel like you’re constantly fighting a headache just to get through the day, this probably sounds familiar:

  • Hot. Humid. Loud. → counting the minutes to grab water between grooms
  • Phones ringing constantly → head pounding by mid-afternoon
  • Large dog booked in a small-dog slot → schedule blown, evening plans cancelled
  • You recommend a shave-down → manager overrides you to satisfy the owner
  • Schedule packed so tight → no time for a bathroom break
  • Working every weekend → missing trips, family events, life
  • Text comes in during dinner → tomorrow’s schedule changed

Here's how we run things.

  • Temperature your way → AC, fans, or heater as needed
  • Receptionist handles phones → you focus on grooming
  • You control your schedule → you decide groom lengths and pacing
  • Your professional judgment respected → what’s best for the dog comes first
  • Set hours → when your shift ends, you leave
  • Your personal time is yours → no after-hours calls or texts
  • Weekends free → time for friends, family, and life

Requirements

  • 24+ months of professional dog grooming experience
  • At least 12 consecutive months with the same employer

  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance
