Canine Training and Dog Daycare Attendant
You have professional dog-handling experience and have taught group classes, but you're ready to take your training career further.
Four-Legged Fun Zone is hiring a full-time Canine Training and Dog Daycare Attendant to manage group play and build new training classes for our clients.
WE'LL REIMBURSE UP TO 100% OF YOUR DOG-TRAINING EDUCATION!
Already certified or completed dog-training school? Your approved past education qualifies, too.
Yes, you read that right. If you've already completed approved professional dog-training education or you'd like to become a certified dog trainer, we'll reimburse you for it.
However, there is a catch! This isn't an entry-level dog-care position. We're looking for someone who already has professional dog-training experience and is ready to put it to work in a bigger way.
At a minimum, you must have at least 1 year of experience independently leading group dog-training classes—not just assisting.
What We're Looking For
- Solo Teaching Experience: At least 1 year of experience independently running and leading group dog-training classes (beyond just assisting).
- Professional dog-training certification is welcome but not required. Proven hands-on experience matters most.
- Program Builder: Design and lead small group training classes (puppy basics, confidence building, manners, etc.) for daycare clients and the public.
- Daycare Wrangler: Supervise safe, positive daycare playgroups while integrating training-based enrichment activities daily.
- Hands-On Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of canine behavior from day one.
Why Join Us?
- Guaranteed 40 Hours: $22–$24/hour base pay while working directly with our daycare dogs.
- Class Bonuses: Earn an additional $5 per enrolled student when group classes reach 3+ students. At $24/hour, a 6-student class = $54 for that teaching hour.
- Up to 100% Tuition Reimbursement: We reimburse 50% of approved dog-training education after one year and the remaining 50% after two years. Past schooling may qualify.
- Established Business: Built-in clientele, marketing, scheduling, and billing—you don't have to build a training business from scratch.
- Build Something: Help create and grow our group classes, workshops, and future training services.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Behavior Expertise: Deep understanding of canine body language, stress/arousal triggers, thresholds, and positive-reinforcement training methods.
- Group & Safety Skills: Ability to safely manage dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and play styles, including dogs up to 100 lbs.
- Off-Leash Group Experience: Proven professional experience independently managing off-leash groups of 5+ dogs.
- Situational Awareness: Ability to monitor multiple dogs, anticipate problems, and intervene appropriately before situations escalate.
- Client Skills: Strong independent decision-making and clear, professional client communication.
- Class Creation: Experience creating and marketing group dog-training classes, workshops, or events.
- Basic Requirements: 18+, safe driving record, reliable attendance for a full-time Monday–Friday schedule, and able to pass a background check.
